Sandboxer vs Zeabur

Zeabur is an app deployment platform: you deploy Git repos, Dockerfiles or templates onto servers you buy through Zeabur (resold from AWS, GCP, Hetzner and others) or mount from your own infrastructure; dashboard plans run from free to $79 a month, and a server needs no paid plan. It is built for hosting services long-term, while Sandboxer gives agents disposable Ubuntu VMs with memory pause, fork and per-second billing. Pick Zeabur to host apps on your own or cheap resold servers; pick Sandboxer for agent workspaces.

Where Zeabur is strong

  • Bring-your-own-server: mount existing machines from AWS, GCP, Hetzner or your own datacenter.
  • Resold servers from several clouds, some below the provider's list price.
  • HTTP services get domains with a generated zeabur.app name or a custom domain; TCP services get port forwarding.
  • A free plan manages one self-managed server.

Where Sandboxer differs

  • Zeabur bills servers monthly at a fixed rate; Sandboxer bills per second and a stopped sandbox costs nothing.
  • Sandboxer pauses a VM with memory and forks it; Zeabur hosts long-running services.
  • Zeabur can run on your own servers; Sandboxer is not self-hostable.
  • Sandboxer ships coding agents, a prompt API and nested KVM in every sandbox.

Pick Zeabur if

  • You want to host apps and templates long-term on servers you own or buy cheaply.
  • You want a PaaS experience on top of your existing cloud servers.

Pick Sandboxer if

  • Agents need short-lived VMs that pause and resume with memory and cost nothing stopped.
  • You want root, Docker and nested KVM in a fresh Ubuntu VM per task.
  • You want coding agents preinstalled and driven by a prompt API.
