Sandboxer vs Tangle Sandbox

Tangle Sandbox runs agent tasks in dev containers or microVMs with SDK and CLI access to shell, files, ports, snapshots and GPUs. Public documentation is thin on isolation details, root, Docker and pricing. Pick Tangle if you need on-demand GPU leases for a command; pick Sandboxer for full Ubuntu VMs with root, Docker, nested KVM and resumable processes.

Where Tangle Sandbox is strong

  • GPU can be attached only to the command that needs it, with a spend cap.
  • One API key and SDK/CLI covering shell, files, ports and snapshots.
  • Public per-port preview links from the SDK.
  • Configurable idle timeout and max lifetime per sandbox.

Where Sandboxer differs

  • Tangle's docs do not state root access, Docker or nested virtualization; Sandboxer documents all three in a full Ubuntu VM.
  • Tangle snapshots capture the workspace and new sandboxes start from them; Sandboxer also keeps RAM and processes on stop and resume.
  • Tangle's public pricing is not published in the pages read; Sandboxer lists per-second rates.
  • Sandboxer preinstalls coding agents with a prompt API; Tangle exposes agent harnesses through its SDK.

Pick Tangle Sandbox if

  • You need a GPU only for specific commands, billed as a lease.
  • You want dev-container sandboxes tied into Tangle's wider network and tooling.
  • You prefer per-second metered usage under a single API key.

Pick Sandboxer if

  • You need a full VM with root, systemd, Docker and nested KVM.
  • You need running processes to survive stop and resume.
  • You want published per-size prices and coding agents preinstalled.
