Sandboxer vs Baponi
Baponi is a code-execution API: each call runs Bash, Python or Node in an isolated sandbox, and a thread_id saves and restores /home/baponi between calls. It is not a persistent machine, and processes do not run between calls. Pick Baponi for short, policy-controlled code execution that can be self-hosted on Kubernetes; pick Sandboxer for persistent full VMs.

At a glance
= not documented publicly.
Where Baponi is strong
- Self-hostable on any Kubernetes cluster with one Helm chart, including air-gapped.
- Stateful threads persist the home directory between calls with configurable retention.
- Free plan of 1,000 credits a month with no credit card.
- Network policy defaults to no network interface; unrestricted outbound is opt-in.
Where Sandboxer differs
- Baponi executes individual calls with only the home directory carried between them; Sandboxer is a persistent VM whose processes and RAM survive stop and resume.
- Baponi limits executions to 60 s on Free and 1 h on Pro; Sandboxer paid plans allow sandboxes with no time limit.
- Baponi sandboxes have no documented inbound ports; Sandboxer exposes any port as an HTTPS URL.
- Baponi prices by credits per CPU-minute at fixed 4 CPU / 4 GiB on Pro; Sandboxer lists per-size rates up to 16 vCPU / 32 GB (xlarge, on the $100 plan or higher).
Pick Baponi if
- You need short code execution calls inside your own VPC or air-gapped cluster.
- You want a Python/Node/Bash API with SDKs for LangChain, OpenAI Agents SDK and others.
- You want a free tier for light usage.
Pick Sandboxer if
- You need a persistent machine you can SSH into, with root, systemd and Docker.
- You need to run servers and reach them over HTTPS.
- You need processes to keep running or resume after stop.
